Story of a Quantum’s Life
The Process of Becoming and Unbecoming, and the Eternal Storage of its Information in Space.
In the vast, pulsating expanse of the human brain, a quantum entity named Quix set out on a journey unlike any other. As a quantum, Quix was a packet of energy existing in a state of potentiality, a superposition of all possible states, waiting for a moment of decision and transformation.
Quix’s story begins in the heart of a neuron, nestled within the synaptic cleft where electrical impulses dance like fireflies. The neuron, a sentinel of thought, was in the midst of a profound process. A thought — a flicker of consciousness — was forming in the mind of a woman named Sarah. She was remembering the scent of jasmine in the summer air, a memory from her childhood.
As Sarah’s memory surfaced, an electrochemical signal surged through her neural network, a cascade of ions and neurotransmitters crossing synapses. In one such synapse, Quix felt the tremor of change. The electrical current reached its peak, and Quix, vibrating with anticipation, prepared for its transformation.
In the quantum world, observation is everything. The moment Sarah’s thought directed attention to that memory, Quix experienced a collapse. In a split second, it transformed from a diffuse cloud of…
