Considering all the evidence, I come to this conclusion the the primary factor in the hateful situation is a "people-appraisal" mindset (beliefs and perceptions) that's pervasive in the American and other cultures. It relates to the way we judge people's intrinsic worthiness, worthwhileness, goodness and badness.

For example, if someone perceives that a certain group of people judges the person to be worthless, undeserving, inferior and don't care about one's wellbeing, that person will likely be resentful and angry. If the people doing the perceived judging are the person's government's leaders and the people who support the establishment, it might not be too difficult to convince the person that they are evil, corrupt and should be destroyed.

If, however, that same person believed one's government was truly caring, concerned and beneficial to the person and one's family, the person would likely feel valuable, worthy and worthwhile, and the opposite outcome is more likely.

That means how people perceive they are being judged by others directly determine how they will judge others. Thus, it boils down to people-appraisal mindsets, which I examine at
